Mimi’s Handmade Ice Cream has recently initiated its “soft opening” at its inaugural Montgomery County location in Federal Plaza at 12274 Rockville Pike Suite E. Taking over the space formerly occupied by Yogi Castle, which permanently closed in the spring, Mimi’s Handmade brings a refreshing addition to the area. Although the ice cream shop had initially aimed for a summer opening, it officially welcomed customers during a beautiful fall weekend.

Owned by Rollin Amore, Mimi’s Handmade Ice Cream is named after one of his daughters. The shop reflects Amore’s rich culinary heritage, influenced by his Italian and German grandmothers’ secret family recipes for delectable desserts. Drawing inspiration from his extensive travels over the last 30 years, particularly in Asia, Amore introduces unique flavors such as roasted banana nut, olive OYL, butterfly pea, maple cashew, and more. Mimi’s Handmade offers a diverse range of ice cream flavors, including both innovative and traditional options.

Notably, Mimi’s Handmade Ice Cream is set to open a second location in The Heights food hall, further expanding its presence in Montgomery County. With its commitment to bringing a fusion of global tastes and flavors to the community, Mimi’s Handmade Ice Cream adds a delightful culinary experience to Federal Plaza.
