Boca Botanas Set to Bid Farewell: Last Day of Business on Saturday, February 3rd

Boca Botanas, a restaurant that serves an authentic mix of Latin American cuisine served in a Spanish Tapas style, will close on Saturday, February 3rd.

Boca Botanas was founded in 2016 at 239 Muddy Branch Rd in the Festival shopping center by Gaithersburg High School alumnus Michael Alexander. “I’m really gonna miss the smiles and the gatherings here. It was a great success for 8 years, but financially it doesn’t make sense to continue in this location,” he tells us.

During the pandemic, the restaurant got creative and opened up three new virtual restaurant concepts to keep delivery sales going while dining out wasn’t an option. Cruudo which featured an extensive ceviche menu, Herby Vegan, which included plant based protein options like tofu ravioli and Beyond meat, and Bagel vs Bialy, which featured a selection of bagels and bialy (baked hybrid between a bagel and English muffin) sandwiches, became a hit.

Boca Botanas will be going full force until it closes on Saturday, February 3rd and they hope to be able to celebrate with you one last time.
