El Andariego, which translates to “The Wanderer,” located at 5 Olney Sandy Spring Rd. in Ashton, is joyfully celebrating a remarkable 25 years in business. In honor of this significant milestone, the restaurant is extending a generous 10% discount on all dishes from Monday, February 5th to Wednesday, February 7th.
Founded in 1999 by Cristina Vasquez and friends, El Andariego has grown into a cherished Mexican restaurant, attracting patrons from both Montgomery and Howard County. Throughout the years, Jaime Vasquez joined Cristina in overseeing the dining room during evenings. Recently, Consuelo Molina, Jaime’s sister, has become an integral part of the team, leading the kitchen with over 16 years of experience from fine Italian restaurants in Washington, D.C., including her role as Executive Chef at Finemondo.
Under Consuelo’s adept guidance, the dedicated kitchen staff, many of whom have been with the restaurant since its inception, work seamlessly. Jaime skillfully manages the bustling dining room, where familiar faces have become an integral part of the El Andariego family. Over the years, the restaurant has been a witness to the growth of young kids into young adults, the blossoming of courtships, and the flourishing of friendships and families.
Cristina and her teenage daughter extend warm greetings to every guest, often by name, fostering a sense of warmth, welcome, and excellence. As El Andariego continues to thrive, the Vasquez family eagerly anticipates the pleasure of serving both familiar and new faces, embodying the spirit of a welcoming and enduring community gathering spot.
