DC’s Brasserie Beck Has Closed

Brasserie Beck by Chef Robert Wiedmaier, a contemporary European style brasserie located at 1101 K Street in NW DC, has permanently closed.

Brasserie Beck opened its DC location in 2007 and was known for its extensive Belgian beer list and raw bar offerings. In 2014, the company expanded with a second location at 311 Kentlands Blvd in Gaithersburg, which operated for approximately two years.

The restaurant posted the following message on its website on Saturday evening:

“With a mix of emotions, we share the news of Brasserie Beck’s closure. Today marks the end of our service after 17 years of operation. Since opening our doors in April 2007, Brasserie Beck has been a DC staple known for its Belgian cuisine, wide selection of European beers, lively patio and bar scene, and welcoming atmosphere.

Reflecting on our time serving the Washington, D.C. community, we are truly grateful for the support and recognition Brasserie Beck has garnered. Your kind words, whether from esteemed publications or cherished patrons, have inspired our dedication to providing exceptional dining experiences.

As we bid farewell, we extend our heartfelt gratitude to each and every one of you who has dined with us, shared laughter, and created memories within our walls. Your patronage has been the cornerstone of our success, and it has been our honor to serve you. We also extend our deepest thanks to all the staff members, past and present, who have contributed their hard work, dedication, and passion to building Brasserie Beck over the years.

While this chapter may be closing, we’re excited to announce that Chef Wiedmaier’s celebrated establishment, Marcel’s, is commemorating its 25th anniversary this month. Additionally, we’re thrilled to announce the reopening of Mussel Bar & Grille Bethesda, providing another location where you can enjoy our renowned mussels.

Thank you for your unwavering support and loyalty. We eagerly anticipate welcoming you to our other establishments in the future.

Warm regards, The Brasserie Beck Team”
