Student-Run Cafe Edison: Serving Breakfast and Lunch Until May 17th


Café Edison, an innovative in-school restaurant operated by students at Thomas Edison High School of Technology, has commenced its breakfast and lunch services on weekdays until Friday, May 17. Please note that the restaurant will be closed during the spring break period but will resume operations on Wednesday, April 3.

Breakfast is available at two seating times: 8:40 a.m. and 9 a.m., while lunch is served at 12:05 p.m. and 12:20 p.m. To ensure a seamless dining experience, reservations are mandatory and can be secured by contacting Hospitality and Tourism teacher Jason Potyk at 240-740-2024 or via email. Payments can be made in cash or by check.

Patrons can explore the menu options by scanning the QR codes provided on the flyer or by visiting the school website. Located at 12501 Dalewood Drive in Silver Spring, Café Edison offers students a unique opportunity to acquire practical, real-world skills within a functioning restaurant environment. From greeting and seating guests to preparing and serving meals, students are involved in every aspect of restaurant operations, including bussing tables and ensuring cleanliness. This hands-on experience equips them with valuable skills and prepares them for future endeavors in the hospitality industry.
