Vanish Beer/Wine Garden at Comus Inn Opens Today

Last year, The Comus Inn (located at 23900 Old Hundred Rd, Dickerson) made headlines when it announced its sale and impending closure on November 26th, with new ownership slated to take the reins in December. Fast forward to Tuesday, April 16th, and the revival began as Comus Inn reopened its doors. Adding to the excitement, the Vanish Beer/Wine Garden joins the fray on Wednesday, May 1st.

Nestled behind the Inn, the Vanish Farmwood Brewery’s beer/wine garden promises an enticing array of craft brews paired with delectable tacos and weekly live music featuring beloved local bands. The inaugural event kicks off at 5:30 pm on Wednesday with the Vanish Taco Truck and live tunes—an exciting first step in unveiling the outdoor segment of Comus Inn.

Vanish Farmwood Brewery, known as a “63-acre, family-owned farm-brewery in beautiful Lucketts, VA,” is renowned for its quality brews and relaxed ambiance, sourcing local ingredients to craft beers that boast a unique “plant-to-pint” and “seed-to-sip” experience.

Per Comus Inn: “Executive Chef JR Tiernan formerly of Dominion Wine & Beer, Falls Church’s much-lauded wine bar and bottle shop, leads the kitchen with his spin on classic Americana-driven tavern fare, seasonal small plates, and artfully-crafted charcuterie. With the re-launch of the beloved Comus Inn, Chef JR’s classic but playful cuisine finds a new audience and a new backdrop, marrying French culinary traditions with local meats, produce, and dairy to celebrate the wealth of Maryland’s agricultural reserve.”

Originally known as the Johnson-Wolfe Farm, The Comus Inn, housed in a historic 1860s farmhouse, now sits on just over five acres of the Maryland Agricultural Reserve. Offering a farm-centric American tavern experience, a family-friendly beer and wine garden, and breathtaking views of Sugarloaf Mountain, the revamped Comus Inn promises a delightful retreat from the hustle and bustle of the nearby I-270 travel corridor.

Operating hours are as follows: Tuesday and Wednesday from 4 pm to 8 pm, Thursday and Friday from 4 pm to 8:30 pm, and Saturday and Sunday from 11 am to 8:30 pm. The Comus Inn observes a closure on Mondays.
