Han Spot: Progress Report on Rio’s Anticipated Dim Sum Restaurant

Han Spot, a new dim sum restaurant, is set to open in the space that previously housed Union Jack’s until June 2020, located at 9811 Washingtonian Blvd. The exact opening date is still unknown, but it is expected in the coming months.

Recent developments indicate significant progress, as window signs have been removed, revealing a well-advanced interior. Additionally, the restaurant had its beer, wine, and liquor license hearing with Montgomery County’s Alcoholic Beverage Services last month.

The restaurant is being launched by Chris Zhu, the owner of popular dim sum spots China Garden in Rockville and Han Palace in Tysons, Woodley Park, and Barracks Row. New signage on the doors announces that Han Spot is now hiring for several positions:

  • Waitresses
  • Waiters
  • Busboys
  • Kitchen Workers
  • Dishwashers

Interested applicants are encouraged to contact the manager, Mandy Xie, by phone or text at (301) 529-5398.
