More revolving sushi has arrived in Rockville with the “soft launch” of Uzu Revolving Sushi at 1701 Rockville Pike A6 in The Shops at Congressional Village shopping center.

Uzu Revolving Sushi introduces a fresh dining experience where traditional Japanese cuisine blends with modern innovation. According to the restaurant, “Step into our world of delicious sushi creations and let the flavors transport you to the heart of Japan. Our commitment to quality and authenticity ensures that every dish that glides through our revolving belt is a masterpiece crafted with precision and care.”

Uzu joins Kura Revolving Sushi, which opened just a half mile away at Federal Plaza last month, marking a resurgence of revolving sushi in Montgomery County. Other nearby eateries in The Shops at Congressional Village include Kajiken, Okaeri Japanese Cafe, Kanpai Southeast Asian BBQ, and Shabu Shabu Buffet.

The shopping center itself, a multi-tenant retail space, was recently purchased for $44 million at an auction held on October 12th, 2022. The auction was won by the IVEA Restaurant Group (owners of local spots like Gyuzo BBQ, Gong Cha, The Spot, Kyoto Matcha, and Lao Sze Chuan) and Chicago-based Windfall Group LLC, who plan to bring additional restaurants to the area.
