Restaurant Featuring 60 Wines on Tap is Opening in Maryland

Sixty Vines, the restaurant renowned for its innovative wine-on-tap program and vineyard-inspired cuisine, is expanding into Maryland. While it was previously reported that the restaurant had signed on in Bethesda, new business filings show that Sixty Vines is set to open in Gaithersburg’s Downtown Crown neighborhood at 212 Ellington Blvd, the former location of Pour House.

Sixty Vines already has nearby locations in DC’s Foggy Bottom neighborhood on Washington Circle and in Reston, VA. The restaurant offers guests the chance to sample 60 different wines on tap, sourced from wine regions around the world. While a representative from Sixty Vines could not provide additional details, a contact from the Reston location confirmed that the Gaithersburg site is scheduled to open in October 2025. Kite Realty, which owns and operates the Downtown Crown retail development, declined to comment.

In addition to its wine program, Sixty Vines features a menu of chef-driven dishes that celebrate seasonal ingredients, ideal for pairing with wine. Most locations boast an immersive dining experience, with indoor and patio seating, a full bar, and third-party delivery options for those who prefer to dine at home.

Per previous press releases from Sixty Vines regarding other openings: “With a deep commitment to sustainability, Sixty Vines offers an eco-friendly approach to serving wine and the closest “from the barrel” tasting experience for guests to enjoy by the glass, flight, or bottle. Each keg holds 26 bottles and can be reused around 1,500 times over its refillable lifetime, so with every glass you enjoy, you’re sipping sustainably. Selections include a variety of reds, rosés, and whites sourced from iconic winemakers, along with a variety of cocktails and mocktails.

Open for brunch, lunch, and dinner, the restaurant prides itself on a “pinkies down” approach to both wine and food, as guests are invited to enjoy an abundance of shareable selections in the restaurant’s open, communal seating style. Signature staples include custom charcuterie boards, seasonal shareables, hand-tossed pizzas and wood fired entrees dishes. Entrées include an array of homemade pasta dishes, vibrant seafood like Atlantic Salmon and Grilled Halibut, and hearty items such as the Double Cabernet Burger and Wood Grilled Bavette Steak. Dessert favorites include Sticky Toffee Cake, Basque Cheesecake, and Deviled Affogato. In addition, Sixty Vines offers an extensive gluten-free menu and provides an option to make most menu items gluten free.”
