Olney Update on Z-Burger/Maman Joon

In mid-October, Z-Burger and Maman Joon are set to open their new location at 18100 Georgia Avenue in Olney, taking over the former Taco Bar and Jerry’s Subs & Pizza space. Z-Burger, a regional DMV-based chain, is known for its handcrafted burgers, fresh-cut fries, and a variety of hand-spun milkshakes. With multiple locations in DC, Northern Virginia, and Maryland, this will be its first establishment in Montgomery County.

Maman Joon, the Persian restaurant chain, will offer a diverse menu featuring kabobs, sandwiches, soups, salads, platters, and desserts. The upcoming Olney location joins its existing restaurants in Tenleytown, McLean, and Tyson’s Corner. The joint venture is anticipated to open a few weeks ahead of the Bethesda Z-Burger location.

As per Mama Joon:

We take pride in creating authentic Persian food that reflects our heritage. Our ingredients are always fresh, most of our spices come from Iran, and our menu is lovingly prepared using our treasured family recipes. As for the restaurant’s name, the word Maman means “mom” and the word Joon means “soul, spirit of life.” Used in a modern day to mean “dear”, as a gesture of close kinship and hospitality. So all together Maman Joon, means DEAR MOM! Food is the language through which mom best knows.
