A Unique Culinary Collaboration Titled “Tacos Y Tikka” is Set to Take Place in Bethesda Starting October 26th.


Two accomplished chefs, Carmen Miranda from Tacombi and Ashish Alfred from the Alfred Restaurant Group, both with restaurants less than a mile apart in Bethesda, are collaborating to bring a Mexican/Indian fusion menu to life. This unique gastronomic experience, titled “Tacos Y Tikka,” will be exclusively available at the Bethesda Tacombi taqueria (4749 Bethesda Ave) for a limited time, starting from October 26 through Thanksgiving.

The fusion menu features the innovative Chicken Tikka Masala Taco, crafted by Chef Ashish Alfred. This fusion creation combines garam masala, ginger, and butter chicken sauce, wrapped in a Vista Hermosa corn tortilla and finished with cotija cheese. The collaboration showcases the synergy of Mexican and Indian culinary traditions, offering a delightful cross-cultural dining experience.

Tacombi, recognized for its full-flavor tacos, cocktails, and beers, operates 20 popular taquerias across the DMV, NYC, and Miami metro areas. Chef Carmen Miranda, leading Culinary Innovation for Tacombi, is an award-winning chef with international acclaim, having won the seventh season of “MasterChef” Mexico in 2019 and receiving the “Taco de Oro” award in Dubai, UAE in January 2022.

Chef Ashish Alfred, known for his classical training and diverse culinary influences, operates multiple Maryland and D.C. restaurants under the Alfred Restaurant Group. His innovative approach to contemporary dining, rooted in soulful cooking, has garnered recognition and accolades, including being named Maryland Chef of the Year in 2019.

This collaboration exemplifies the commitment of both Tacombi and The Alfred Restaurant Group to the community, bringing a fresh and exciting culinary offering to Bethesda.
