Signature Dish, a television program aired on WETA PBS, is set to showcase Rockville’s food truck ‘Fire Pit Brazilian Barbecue’ in an upcoming episode highlighting South American cuisine in March.
Fire Pit Brazilian Barbecue opened its food truck at 804 Rockville Pike in the Golden Arcade shopping center (across from the Ritchie Center/IHOP) in October 2022. Notably, less than a year later, the family behind the truck announced plans for a second location at the upcoming Solaire Social Food Hall in Silver Spring.
In its second season, Signature Dish has been spotlighting standout dishes at various renowned restaurants across the DMV (District of Columbia, Maryland, and Virginia) region. In Montgomery County, the show has previously featured notable establishments such as Cielo Rojo (Takoma Park), Kuya Ja (Rockville area), Frankly Pizza (Kensington), Melina (Pike & Rose), Q By Peter Chang (Bethesda), Mansa Kunda (Takoma Park), and Seoul Food (Takoma Park). Kantutas in Wheaton is also scheduled for a feature.
Seth Tillman, the producer/host of Signature Dish, expressed his joy at featuring local restaurants in the region, stating, “I grew up in Chevy Chase MD and live in Silver Spring, so it brings me great joy to be able to feature local restaurants in a place that I’ve grown up and lived in for decades.”
Gui Gonzalez, Chef/Owner of Fire Pit Brazilian Barbecue, commented on the privilege of being featured on the show, highlighting that Fire Pit is the first food truck to be showcased on Signature Dish. This recognition underscores the growing popularity and appreciation for the diverse culinary offerings in the Montgomery County area.
