The Grove in Potomac Unveils Its Culinary Creations, Aiming for Montgomery County’s First Michelin Star

The Grove, situated at 7747 Tuckerman Ln. in Potomac’s Cabin John Village, is officially opening its doors on Tuesday, November 28th. Ambitiously aiming to become Montgomery County’s first Michelin-starred restaurant, The Grove boasts Chef José López-Picazo at the helm, and a first look video is available below.

Taking over the space formerly occupied by Lahinch, The Grove presents a distinct aesthetic from its predecessors in the Potomac shopping center. Early impressions, as shared by @MrMoCo301, suggest a promising start in achieving its Michelin star aspirations.

Under the management of Common Plate Hospitality, Chef José López-Picazo, known for his previous involvement in opening Jaleo (now Spanish Diner) with Chef José Andrés in Bethesda in the early 2000s, brings his expertise to The Grove. Picazo, a Madrid Cooking Institute-trained chef, also has experience at the two Michelin-starred Picasso in the Bellagio in Las Vegas. While the ultimate goal is a Michelin star, The Grove’s current menu features appetizers ranging from $14 to $28 and entrees priced between $45 and $75. A tasting menu, aimed at achieving the coveted Michelin star, will soon be introduced.

The Grove’s menu is characterized as Mediterranean, primarily Iberian (Spain), with influences from Greece, Italy, and Morocco. Operating hours for the restaurant are from 4 pm to 10 pm on Sunday to Thursday and from 4 pm to midnight on Fridays and Saturdays. The establishment offers an à la carte dinner menu, an innovative cocktail menu featuring unique drinks not yet seen in Montgomery County, and a comprehensive wine selection that will soon include a Maryland ice wine.
