A First Look at Mason’s Famous Lobster Rolls

Annapolis-based Mason’s Famous Lobster Rolls has opened its first Montgomery County location at 201A Boardwalk Place in Gaithersburg’s Rio Lakefront. The space, which was recently the temporary home of Locally Crafted and previously housed Joseph A. Bank, is now serving up the popular lobster rolls that have garnered a loyal following.

The menu at Mason’s features a variety of lobster-centric dishes, including lobster rolls, lobster (or shrimp) salads, lobster BLT, lobster grilled cheese, lobster mac and cheese, potato salad, lobster bisque, and more. The fast-casual restaurant is open daily from 11 AM to 9 PM. We’ve included a video and photos from our visit today below.

Lobster rolls are priced at $21, with an option to upgrade to the “Bar Harbor” for a total of $27, which adds “50% more lobster & tail.” Guests can also choose to make it a combo, which includes a beverage and a side. Soups, such as lobster bisque, New England clam chowder, and shrimp & sausage gumbo, are available for $6 for a cup or $8 for a bowl. The lobster mac and cheese is priced at $17, and the lobster grilled cheese is $16.

Since opening its flagship location in Annapolis, Maryland, in 2014, Mason’s Famous Lobster Rolls has rapidly expanded, winning over seafood enthusiasts across the country. The fast-casual franchise now boasts locations in states including Arizona, Colorado, Delaware, Florida, Minnesota, North Carolina, South Carolina, Washington, D.C., Washington state, Texas, Virginia, and more.
