MoCo resident Chef Mike Friedman (Olney), along with Colin McDonough, Gareth Croke, and Mike O’Malley, the team behind DC restaurants All-Purpose Pizzeria, The Red Hen, and Boundary Stone Public House, are set to launch a new concept in Downtown Bethesda in November, according to Washingtonian Magazine. The establishments, named Aventino and AP Pizza Shop, will be situated at 4747 Bethesda Ave.
Aventino will showcase vibrant and traditional Roman cuisine, curated by Chef Mike Friedman, featuring antipasti, pasta, and more. The menu will also offer classic cocktails like a variety of spritzes and negronis. The ambiance of the restaurant is designed to be warm and inviting, accommodating over 100 guests. According to Washingtonian, the menu will include dishes like Jewish-style fried artichokes, polenta-crusted fluke, and housemade gelato.
AP Pizza Shop will serve as the Bethesda location for Friedman’s All-Purpose Pizzeria, which presently operates two locations in D.C. The menu will feature Jersey-style, deck-oven pies, Italian coffee and pastries in the morning, paninis, salads, and slices for lunch, and a broader selection of pizzas for dinner.
