After navigating the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, DJs Victor Alvarez and Carlos Jimenez turned their unexpected downtime into an opportunity to pursue a long-held dream. Their passion project, Big Papi’s Tacos, became a reality in Frederick’s Industry Lane Business Park. Now, the popular taco spot is preparing to open its first Montgomery County location.
Following its success in Frederick, Big Papi’s has expanded to Hagerstown and announced an upcoming restaurant in Fairfax County’s South Alex Complex on North Kings Highway. The newest addition will be located at 201 E Middle Ln in Rockville Town Center, taking over the former Domoishi/Asian Food Hall space.
Big Papi’s menu features a variety of flavorful options, including carne asada tacos, quesabirria pizza, surf n turf tacos, walking tacos, birria egg rolls, buffalo wings, and birria ramen. While an official opening date hasn’t been announced, the restaurant is expected to launch later this year.
