Buca di Beppo to Close

Updated at 2:45 PM: A Kimco representative informed us that Buca di Beppo’s lease is expiring, and the restaurant has chosen not to renew. Redevelopment of that part of the shopping center is not anticipated to start until at least 2026. My Gym, Orange Theory, and the post office all have current leases and are not expected to close in the near future.

Buca di Beppo, located at 112 Kentlands Blvd in Gaithersburg, has announced that it will close its doors on Sunday, June 23.

A representative from the location confirmed that the property is set for redevelopment. Back in 2019, it was reported that Kimco Realty was seeking approval for a schematic development plan that would transform the area. The proposed plan involved redeveloping an existing surface parking lot and retail strip into a six-story mixed-use building. This development includes 245 apartments, 12,125 square feet of commercial space, and 576 parking spaces designated for both residential and commercial use within one building. The Gaithersburg Mayor & City Council approved this plan (SDP-8146-2019) during their meeting on September 3, 2019.

Buca di Beppo is a popular Italian restaurant chain known for its family-style menu items, which are designed to be shared around the table and offered à la carte. We will provide updates as more information becomes available.
