Buena Onda Baja Taqueria is set to arrive at Rockville’s Pike Center.

Buena Onda Baja Taqueria is slated to open its doors at 12107 Rockville Pike, the former site of Avail Vape/Kure CBD & Vape, situated in the Pike Center shopping center (also housing TGI Friday’s), as announced by Kimco. This establishment, a creation of Ecuadorian-American chef José Garces, who clinched victory in the second season of The Next Iron Chef and triumphed over Bobby Flay in Iron Chef America, is set to offer a distinctive Baja-inspired taqueria experience.

Described on the restaurant’s website, Buena Onda, which translates to “Good Vibes” in Spanish, is more than just a fast-casual taqueria—it’s a mindset. In a landscape filled with fast casual options, Buena Onda distinguishes itself by providing guests with an inviting menu, amiable service, and a laid-back beach bum decor.

Chef Jose Garces, celebrated for infusing his Latin-American heritage into culinary masterpieces, approaches time-honored recipes with a heartfelt and creative touch, culminating in a unique taqueria encounter at Buena Onda.

The forthcoming Buena Onda will be in good company, joining the recently inaugurated Golfdom and the upcoming premier location of Luna Food Hall in the same shopping center. As of now, an exact opening timeframe for the restaurant has not been disclosed.
