Earlier this year, California Fish Grill, a popular chain with approximately 50 locations across California and Arizona, announced plans to expand into East Coast markets like Virginia, Maryland, and Washington, D.C. Now, the restaurant chain has secured its first Maryland location in Rockville’s Towne Plaza.
As reported by klnb, California Fish Grill has signed a lease for the space at 12238 Rockville Pike. Previously, the location was slated for a Boston Market, which never opened, and it housed a Five Guys for about eight years. California Fish Grill will join the soon-to-open Tatte Bakery & Café in what appears to be a revitalization of the shopping center.
Founded in 1998, California Fish Grill is a counter-service eatery focused on offering affordable, sustainable seafood. Known for its grilled seafood offerings, the menu includes a variety of options such as coastal tacos, hand-battered seafood dishes, chowder, salads, and plant-based choices.
The restaurant is dedicated to sustainability, sourcing its seafood from fisheries and farms that are either designated as Best Choice or Good Alternative by the Monterey Bay Aquarium Seafood Watch® program or Eco-Certified by third-party organizations. California Fish Grill ensures that its seafood comes from reputable sources that prioritize environmental health, helping to preserve high-quality seafood for future generations.
