Last month, we reported that Chido’s Tex-Mex Grill is set to occupy the space previously occupied by The Eleanor at 931 Ellsworth Dr. in Downtown Silver Spring. With the windows now adorned with “coming soon” signage, the restaurant is gearing up for a late spring opening.
Chido’s Tex-Mex Grill first made waves with its inaugural location in Owings Mill, taking over the premises of a former Don Pablo’s that shuttered its doors in 2009. However, with the onset of the pandemic in 2020, the decision was made to not renew the lease, leading to the closure of this location. Nevertheless, their existing establishment at 14600 Laurel Pl. in Laurel has thrived since its opening in 2016, and it is poised to celebrate its 8th anniversary this June.
At Chido’s, patrons can expect a standard Tex-Mex menu with a unique twist on familiar favorites. The Laurel location offers a weekend brunch menu and boasts an extensive drink selection. Recently, Taste MoCo shared a viral video featuring Chido’s renowned ‘Patron Tree’ on Instagram, garnering over a million views. According to their website:
“Welcome to Chido’s Tex-Mex Grill Restaurant. We pride ourselves on being an authentic Mexican restaurant, serving freshly prepared appetizers, entrees, dishes, and drinks daily. Our attentive staff is dedicated to meeting all your needs, upholding our tradition of excellence in service and culinary artistry.”
