Current Information On Wawa in Gaithersburg

The construction of Montgomery County’s inaugural Wawa is advancing at the former Becraft Antiques site (405 S Frederick Ave.) on 355, positioned across from Gaithersburg High School. Job listings for roles such as Customer Service Supervisor, Team Supervisor (Overnights), and Customer Service Associate at the new location have been posted on the store’s website.

Originating in 1803 as an iron foundry in New Jersey, Wawa’s roots evolved when owner George Wood ventured into dairy farming. Establishing a processing plant in Wawa, Pa., in 1902, the family’s commitment to quality, cleanliness, and a certified process propelled the milk business to great success. As home milk delivery declined in the 1960s, Grahame Wood, George’s grandson, inaugurated the first Wawa Food Market in 1964, initially serving as a dairy product outlet.

Today, Wawa has transformed into an all-encompassing destination for fresh, customizable foods, beverages, coffee, fuel services, surcharge-free ATMs, and Boundless Convenience. Boasting a chain of over 950 convenience retail stores, with over 750 offering gasoline, Wawa establishments are found in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, Florida, and Washington, D.C. The stores feature a diverse fresh food service selection, showcasing Wawa brands such as made-to-order hoagies, freshly brewed coffee, hot breakfast sandwiches, made-to-order specialty beverages, and an array of soups, sides, and snacks.
