DIG, formerly known as Dig Inn, is set to open a new restaurant at 4733 Elm St. in Bethesda, Maryland. This location was previously occupied by Mexicue until 2022, Gusto Farm to Street until 2020, and Kraze Burger until 2014.
DIG’s seasonal menu, scratch-cooked by their in-house chefs, features fresh salads and market plates. The menu is regularly rotated to highlight the freshest seasonal vegetables, and it includes house-made sandwiches, bowls, fresh-baked focaccia, kids’ options, and a selection of desserts. Customers can customize their own salad or bowl and add a la carte sides such as roasted sweet potatoes or the Jasper Hill mac and cheese (featuring a Jasper Hill three-cheese blend, Ithaca milk, whole-wheat pasta, and crispy panko breadcrumbs).
Founded by Adam Eskin in 2011, DIG’s first restaurant opened in New York City. As of the past summer, the chain had expanded to 32 restaurants in various locations, including New York City, Brooklyn, Rye Brook, Stamford, Philadelphia, Bridgewater, Boston, and Washington, DC. While an opening date for the Bethesda location is not yet available, ongoing construction indicates progress according to a report by Robert Dyer
