Dave’s Hot Chicken, the renowned hot chicken restaurant chain hailing from California, is set to expand its presence with a second Maryland location in Montgomery County’s White Oak Town Center at 12345 Columbia Pike.
As reported by BizJournals, this hot chicken establishment, boasting celebrity investors such as Drake and Samuel L. Jackson, is poised to join the roster of tenants at the forthcoming White Oak Town Center development. This move follows the recent signings of European Wax Center, Jersey Mike’s, Inspire Nail Bar, Starbucks, and Oak Barrel & Vine. While specific opening dates remain undisclosed, anticipation is building.
Dave’s Hot Chicken distinguishes itself with its specialty in jumbo Hot Chicken Tenders and Sliders, accompanied by sides like house-made Kale Slaw, creamy Mac n’ Cheese, and crispy, seasoned French Fries. Noteworthy is the menu’s seven spice levels, ranging from No Spice to Reaper (which necessitates a signed waiver for the daring), ensuring a personalized and flavorful experience with each piece of juicy, hand-breaded chicken spiced to order.
The history of Dave’s Hot Chicken traces back to May 2017 when four friends pooled together $900 to acquire a fryer. They began serving up the most delectable hot chicken tenders in an East Hollywood parking lot pop-up. The proprietary hot chicken recipe gained such acclaim that, in 2021, Drake became a significant investor in Dave’s Hot Chicken. Recently celebrating its 6th anniversary with a pop-up in the East Hollywood parking lot where it all began, the company distributed free food to both loyal and new customers. In a Hollywood-worthy twist of timing, the company earned the title of America’s Fastest Growing Restaurant Chain from industry research firm Technomic.* This recognition stemmed from Dave’s Hot Chicken achieving a remarkable 156% increase in systemwide sales over the past year, outpacing every other chain nationwide.
