Farewell to a Decade: Mari Vanna DC Announces Closure After 11 Years

Mari Vanna DC, the renowned three-level restaurant spanning 6,000 square feet and inaugurated in January 2013, has officially declared its permanent closure.

This Russian franchise, boasting worldwide locations, has been celebrated for offering authentic, home-style Russian cuisine within an ambiance reminiscent of a “tea party-meets-grandma’s house.” Over the years, Mari Vanna DC has hosted notable personalities including Alex Ovechkin of the Washington Capitals, Taraji P. Henson from Prince George’s County, Paula Abdul, Marlon Wayans, Omar Epps, and many others. The announcement of the closure was communicated through Mari Vanna DC’s social media.

“Dear Guests! Over the span of eleven years, Mari Vanna has warmly embraced you with an open heart in her cozy Home. However, as Chekhov aptly asserted, ‘fortunately or unfortunately, in our lives, there is nothing that doesn’t come to an end sooner or later.’ And now, we find ourselves at the juncture where it is time to bid farewell with a heavy heart.

Our Family expresses profound gratitude to all of you, our cherished Friends, for the warmth of these shared years. To each one of you – our heartfelt thanks!

Mari Vanna’s final day before retirement is scheduled for January 29th. During these remaining operational days, we invite you to join us in reminiscing about the best moments that have etched themselves into the memory of our walls.

With love and gratitude, Mari Vanna”
