Neko Nook has officially opened its doors at 422 Main St in Gaithersburg’s Kentlands neighborhood, taking over the space once home to FD Book Cafe. The cozy new spot embraces a “comfort meets creativity” vibe, with a menu centered around Japanese-style sandwiches, or “sando.” A first-look video by @tastemoco offers a glimpse into the cafe.
The menu features a range of distinctive options, such as the Strawberry Sando (homemade cream, strawberries, shokupan), OG Tamago Sando (Japanese egg salad, shokupan, sweet mayo), and Hambagu Sando (Japanese-style hamburger patties—available in beef or pork—egg, cheese, cabbage, shokupan, and homemade spicy mayo). Also available are the Matcha or Ube Strawberry Sando (with homemade matcha or ube cream, strawberries, and shokupan), alongside various coffee and tea selections.
