Back in August, we shared the news that Fuddruckers would be making its return to Chinatown in Washington, DC, and Silver Spring, MD, with new locations originally planned for a fall opening.
We’ve now confirmed that Fuddruckers will be returning to its former location at 819 Ellsworth Drive in Downtown Silver Spring, which had closed in December 2019. While the exact opening timeline is still unclear, the restaurant is progressing with a hearing for its beer, wine, and liquor license, scheduled for Thursday, November 21.
Currently, the closest Fuddruckers to Montgomery County is located in Ashburn, VA. In the past, the chain had locations in Rockville, Gaithersburg, and Downtown Silver Spring—where it will soon reopen.
In 2021, we reported that Fuddruckers had been purchased by Nicholas Perkins and his Black Titan Holdings group for $18.5 million. “We’re excited to be purchasing Fuddruckers and look forward to working with Fuddruckers’ many dedicated, highly capable franchisees to further build this brand. As a Fuddruckers franchisee, I have a vested interest in ensuring that all Fuddruckers franchisees have the resources, infrastructure, and operational and marketing support they need to maximize their return on investment. This strategic alignment, when combined with the fact that we sell the ‘World’s Greatest Hamburgers’, will ensure the long-term success of the brand and our franchisees,” Perkins said.
