Han Spot, the latest venture from restaurateur Chris Zhu—known for Han Palace in Georgetown, Woodley Park, Tysons Corner, and Barracks Row, as well as Live K, Ginza BBQ Lounge and Karaoke Spot, and China Garden—has announced its soft opening on Friday, August 9th, with a grand opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony scheduled for Friday, August 16th at 6 PM.
The restaurant is situated in the former Union Jack’s location at the Rio Lakefront in Gaithersburg (9811 Washingtonian Center). The menu will feature Cantonese Dim Sum, Peking Duck, and other popular dishes from Han Palace and China Garden.
Han Spot will offer an all-day Dim Sum menu, along with the choice of an à la carte or Unlimited Tasting Menu. The Unlimited Tasting Menu, the first of its kind in the Gaithersburg area, is available in two options: $38 per person ($18 per child) and $48 per person ($25 per child). Option A includes a selection of Dim Sum, appetizers, soups, noodles/rice, and dessert. Option B includes everything in Option A, plus Chef Recommended dishes such as Han Style Peking Duck, MaPo Tofu, and Sautéed Squid with XO Sauce. Special dishes like Braised Abalone with mushroom and Live Lobster served with ginger and scallions, golden egg yolk, and pan-fried noodles are also available for an additional charge.
The daily brunch will feature All Day Bottomless Mimosas, Mai Tais, and Lemon Drop Martinis for $20 per person. Happy Hour runs from Sunday through Friday, 3 PM – 7 PM, offering a variety of cocktails, beers, and wines by the glass. The restaurant also boasts a comprehensive cocktail list, including soju, sake, creative cocktails, and spirits. Additionally, Late Night Karaoke, with a large LED screen, will be available each night from 10 PM – midnight (Sunday through Thursday) and from 10 PM – 1 AM (Fridays and Saturdays).
