Restaurant industry professionals and their allies gathered Sunday night at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center for the 42nd Annual RAMMYS Awards Gala. The Restaurant Association Metropolitan Washington announced winners and special distinctions, celebrating excellence in various categories, from individual professional honors to accolades for culinary concepts and service. This year, the “Hottest Sandwich Shop” award went to Colada Shop, which operates locations in D.C., Maryland, and Virginia.
Founded in 2016 by Daniella Senior, Colada Shop expanded to Montgomery County with a location in Potomac’s Cabin John Village in 2021. Known for its vibrant atmosphere, Colada Shop offers a diverse menu featuring sandwiches like the Guava BBQ sandwich, croquetas, empanadas, a wide variety of coffee, cocktails, and other treats.
According to their website, Colada Shop is “a lively spot where the colors are as vibrant as the flavors. Share in the Cuban way to start and end the day. At Colada Shop we bring people together by transporting them into a space where conversation is flowing, strong coffee is brewed, food & cocktails are made with the flare of Cuban flavor and life. Coladas and conversation go hand in hand. Reach for a cup. Stay for a snack. Order a drink. We are committed to providing quality products, excellent service, and unparalleled hospitality to our patrons.”
