Kabuto Resumes Operations Today Following Temporary Closure

Updated to reflect the restaurant will reopen at 4pm on Thursday

Kabuto, a Japanese restaurant situated at 220 East Middle Ln in Rockville, offering a diverse menu featuring hibachi, sushi, and more, temporarily closed its doors on Tuesday and remained shuttered on Wednesday. The closure prompted concerns among patrons who had made reservations, as the restaurant provided no prior notice.

Upon inquiry, Kabuto informed us that the closure was due to a temporary shutdown prompted by illness. However, the restaurant assured that it would resume operations today (Thursday) at 4 pm.

This information was initially brought to our attention by concerned readers earlier in the week, reporting the unexpected closure when attempting to honor their reservations. Our attempts to reach out to the restaurant through phone calls, social media, and email have yielded no response. Notably, Kabuto is presently not accepting reservations.

Two other Kabuto locations in Maryland have expressed uncertainty about the situation at the Rockville establishment.

Kabuto originally opened its doors at the beginning of 2019. We are committed to providing updates on the restaurant’s future as soon as additional information becomes available.
