Kura Sushi’s Permanent Signage is Up as the Revolving Sushi Restaurant Moves Closer to Opening

Kura Revolving Sushi is preparing to open at 12266 Rockville Pike in Federal Plaza later this year, occupying part of the space previously occupied by Chuy’s and before that, Ruby Tuesday. Permanent signage has been installed (image courtesy of @YaoFomo on Instagram), and Torchy’s Tacos will be taking over the remaining part of the space.

Kura Revolving Sushi Bar promises an “ultimate eater-tainment” experience, offering authentic Japanese cuisine via an engaging conveyor belt system. The restaurant will feature a revolving sushi bar with a diverse selection of sushi plates circulating through the dining area, as well as an express belt for table-side delivery of orders from a menu that includes over 140 items, such as sushi, udon, ramen, hot and cold sides, and desserts. Guests will also enjoy fun prizes for every 15 sushi plates and soft beverages delivered by Kur-B the KuraBot.

The 3,325 square-foot restaurant will be the first Kura Revolving Sushi Bar in Maryland and the third in the DMV area. The projected opening is set for summer 2024, though this timeline may change.
