Laperaux, the French bistro helmed by the accomplished chef, has been recognized as the ‘Best Germantown Restaurant in 2023.’

Laperaux, the French bistro led by the accomplished journeyman chef, has been honored with the ‘2023 Best of Germantown Award’ in the Restaurants category by the Germantown Award Program. The announcement was made in a press release submitted by the owner of Laperaux.

The Germantown Award Program annually recognizes companies that demonstrate exceptional marketing success in their local community and business category. These businesses are acknowledged for enhancing the positive image of small enterprises through outstanding service to customers and the community, contributing to the overall appeal of the Germantown area as a great place to live, work, and play.

Chef and owner Gregory Webb, renowned for receiving awards such as “Chef of the Year 1998” in Houston, Texas, and achieving victory in diverse culinary competitions, opened Laperaux in February 2023. The French bistro offers a high-casual dining experience featuring cuisine crafted by Webb, who has even competed against Bobby Flay on The Food Network and emerged victorious in various ‘chopped style’ competitions organized for local charity and fundraising events, including DC Central Kitchen’s Chefs Cook Off.

The Germantown Award Program, as outlined in the press release, employs a comprehensive approach to selecting winners in each category. Various sources of information are gathered and analyzed to ensure a focus on quality rather than quantity. The program emphasizes the achievements and accomplishments of local businesses in the Germantown area, recognizing those that have demonstrated the ability to use best practices and implement programs leading to competitive advantages and long-term value.

The Germantown Award Program, established to highlight the contributions of the local small business community to the U.S. economy, collaborates with local business owners, trade groups, professional associations, and other entities involved in business advertising and marketing. Their mission is to acknowledge and celebrate the positive impact of small businesses on the Germantown community.
