Ledo Pizza is celebrating a major milestone—the 100th birthday of its matriarch, Thelma Beall. Thelma has been a witness to the brand’s growth from a small restaurant to a beloved community staple over the years.
Reflecting on the journey, Thelma shared, “Ledo Pizza has always been about family, togetherness, and community. I’ve been lucky to witness its growth and how our little restaurant has become a cherished part of so many lives over the years.”
Ledo Pizza is credited as the creator of Maryland-style pizza, known for its distinctive rectangular shape, biscuity crust, sweet tomato sauce, and smoked provolone cheese. In addition to pizza, the menu includes subs, lasagna, spaghetti, jumbo wings, soups, salads, and cheesy garlic bread.
In honor of Thelma’s 100th birthday, Ledo Pizza is offering 100-cent ($1) fountain drinks and iced tea at participating locations during the week of October 20.
