Marathon Gas Station is officially open at 20650 Frederick Rd in Germantown. The gas station took over the longtime home of the Freestate gas station that closed last month.
Marathon brand gasoline is available through retail outlets across the U.S., including the District of Columbia. Marathon stations are predominantly owned and operated by independent entrepreneurs.
The gas station underwent a quick transition, with Freestate signage being removed last month and Marathon signage going up soon after. The location now accepts both credit cards and cash, which is different than the cash-only Freestate that used to occupy the space.
