Restaurant industry professionals and their allies gathered tonight at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center for the 42nd Annual RAMMYS Awards Gala, hosted by the Restaurant Association Metropolitan Washington (RAMW). The event celebrated excellence across various categories, from individual professional honors to accolades recognizing exceptional culinary concepts and service. Silver Spring, MD restaurant Zinnia was honored with the RAMMY for Best Beer Program.
Zinnia, which opened in 2021 in the historic location of Mrs. K’s Tollhouse, has previously been recognized by Washingtonian magazine as “Best Tavern Garden.” The “Beer Program of the Year” award was given to Zinnia for its outstanding quality, diversity, clarity, and value in its beer offerings.
Eligible for this award were brewery restaurants and brewpubs, judged on the variety and quality of their craft beer. Zinnia’s tavern is celebrated for its ambiance, likened to stepping back in time into an old European pub. They offer a wide selection of beers on draft and in large format bottles from Wednesday through Sunday evenings and feature live music three nights a week.
