Mr. Wish, the Taiwanese fresh fruit tea brand, has closed its only Maryland location in Rockville after a little over two years in business. The closure was reported by David Lay of Source of the Spring. Mr. Wish opened its Rockville establishment in September 2021, situated at 1615 Rockville Pike in Congressional Plaza.
Positioned as the “Number 1 fresh fruit tea brand in Taiwan,” Mr. Wish took over the space previously occupied by Honeyfish Poke, one of the early poke restaurants in the area. Before that, the location was home to Robeks until 2015.
The most recent owner of the now-closed Mr. Wish shop is reportedly associated with the upcoming Fruit N Boba Tea shop. Fruit N Boba Tea is set to take over the vacant space next to Montgomery County’s last remaining Baja Fresh at 302 King Farm Blvd. Ste. 130. Construction for Fruit N Boba is expected to commence soon in preparation for an opening later in 2024.
Haagen Dazs is slated to replace Mr. Wish in the Rockville location, although an opening date has not yet been announced. The evolving culinary landscape in Rockville reflects changing consumer preferences and the dynamic nature of the local food scene.
