Neko Nook is opening at 422 Main St in Gaithersburg’s Kentlands neighborhood, taking over the former FD Book Cafe space. Promoting a “comfort meets creativity” vibe, the cafe will feature Japanese-style sandwiches (sando) starting this week.

The menu includes unique offerings like the Strawberry Sando (homemade cream, strawberry, shokupan), OG Tamago Sando (Japanese egg salad, shokupan, sweet mayo), Hambagu Sando (Japanese hambagu patties in beef & pork, egg, cheese, cabbage, shokupan, homemade spicy mayo), and Matcha or Ube Strawberry Sando (homemade matcha or ube cream, strawberry, shokupan). They will also offer a variety of coffee and tea options.

Per Neko Nook: “Welcome to Neko Nook, your cozy corner cafe where comfort meets creativity! Rooted in the artisanal Kentlands neighborhood, Neko Nook is a small, locally-owned business with a passion for bringing people together over delicious food and drink.
