The first phase of the Westbard Square redevelopment project, totaling $37 million, has secured new tenants, with several businesses already operational within the 23-acre development situated at Westbard Ave. and Ridgefield Rd. This comprehensive project will encompass 148,000 square feet of retail space, alongside the construction of Kensington Senior Living, a 116-unit assisted living facility that is presently underway.
Among the businesses already open in the center are Bowlero, Kumon Math & Reading center, Citgo gas station, a newly established Giant Food store, Voorthuis Opticians, and Westbard Barber Shop. Anticipated to join them soon are:
- District Dabblelab: An art studio space committed to fostering imagination, skill development, curiosity, and creativity.
- Oak Barrel & Vine: An upgraded retail concept by Montgomery County’s Department of Alcohol Beverage Services (ABS).
- Piccoli Piatti: Offering a blend of Neapolitan and American style pizza known as Neo Neapolitan pizza, alongside small and shared plates such as Panzanella salad, house-made spreads, calamari dishes, and homemade desserts.
- Starbucks
- Stretch Zone: The nation’s leading practitioner-assisted stretching company.
- Tatte Bakery: A bakery and café featuring pastries, desserts, brunch items, and more, including Spinach & Labne Pita, Cheese Bourekas, Halva Bomb, various shakshukas, coffees, salads, and additional offerings.
- Westbard Dentist
