Okaeri Japanese Cafe, meaning “Welcome Home” in Japanese, is currently in its soft opening phase. Located at 1701 Rockville Pike #B1, in the Shops at Congressional Village in Rockville, Okaeri takes over the space formerly occupied by Eerkins Uygher Cuisine. Eerkins closed due to a kitchen fire in May 2022 and later reopened at a different Rockville location in March 2023.

The cafe offers traditional Japanese bites and desserts, from fruit sandwiches to Onigiri to Dorayaki (Japanese sweet-filled pancakes) and more. h/t @pike.and.rozay on Instagram.

Okaeri Japanese Cafe has an additional location in Centreville, VA.
