Pizzeria That’s Coming Soon to Maryland Secures Spot on Washingtonian’s “Top 100 Very Best Restaurants” List

Washingtonian Magazine has unveiled its coveted roster of the “100 Very Best Restaurants in Washington, DC,” and a notable entry is AP Pizza Shop, a pizzeria that is gearing up to open its first Maryland location in Bethesda.

Scheduled to open its doors at 4747 Bethesda Ave., Maryland, along with its sister-restaurant Aventino on January 31, AP Pizza Shop is a venture by MoCo resident Chef Mike Friedman (from Olney), along with Colin McDonough, Gareth Croke, and Mike O’Malley. This team, renowned for their success with DC restaurants like All-Purpose Pizzeria, The Red Hen, and Boundary Stone Public House, brings their culinary expertise to the Bethesda area.

AP Pizza Shop, an extension of Friedman’s All-Purpose Pizzeria, which currently operates two locations in D.C., is set to introduce “Jersey-style, deck-oven pies.” The menu will feature Italian coffee and pastries in the morning, followed by paninis, salads, and slices for lunch. As the day progresses, a wider array of pizzas will be available for dinner, providing a diverse and delicious dining experience to the Bethesda community.
