Jerk N Jive Caribbean Kitchen has announced plans to close its doors after seven years of serving the Frederick community. The family-owned restaurant shared the news on its social media platforms.

The final day of operation will be Sunday, November 10, marking exactly seven years since its opening in 2017. This closure follows the shuttering of its Prospect Blvd. location in December 2023. Known for its flavorful dishes inspired by the diverse culinary traditions of the Caribbean Islands, Jerk N Jive described itself as “a family-owned and operated Caribbean Style restaurant located in Downtown East Frederick, MD.”  The message left on its Facebook page can be seen below:

“Frederick! Thank you so much for 7 years of support! We have decided to sell the East Street restaurant to a great family that will convert the space to a Mediterranean style Kabob House. We opened our doors November 10th 2017 and will be moving on to other opportunities November 10th 2024…a full circle moment. Again we really appreciate a great 7 years, feel free to stop in this weekend for a Pattie, some coco bread, curry chicken, oxtails or any of your favorite dishes…it’s been a great ride and a pleasure to be a part of the Frederick community!”
