Raising Cane’s is set to open its inaugural location in Washington, D.C. at Union Station (50 Massachusetts Ave) on Tuesday, January 9.
The expansion into the D.C. metropolitan region began with the launch of its first area restaurant in Sterling, VA (45545 Dulles Eastern Plaza) in December 2022. Following this, the first Maryland location opened in Towson in January 2023, drawing considerable attention with lines extending out the door for several months. Throughout the past year, Raising Cane’s continued its expansion, establishing locations in Waldorf (May), Westminster (July), Gambrills (September), and Columbia (November) – the latter being the closest location to Montgomery County.
Founded by Todd Graves in 1996 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Raising Cane’s has steadily grown its footprint, boasting over 460 restaurants across 27 states and extending internationally to Bahrain, Kuwait, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates. The menu maintains a simple focus on chicken finger combos, chicken finger sandwiches, crinkle-cut fries, Texas toast, sweet/iced tea, and the notable Cane’s sauce.
The upcoming Union Station location marks a notable addition to Raising Cane’s presence in the region, and its anticipated opening is met with interest from local residents and visitors alike. The menu can be seen below:
