Bassett’s Restaurant at 19950 Fisher Ave in Poolesville is preparing to resume operations on Monday, October 9, following a temporary closure due to a fire on June 5. The fire, situated in a small building at the back of the establishment, was successfully contained, ensuring no further damage to the main building and restaurant.
Originally opening its doors in 1993, Bassett’s had temporarily closed on December 31, 2021. Myers, a veteran of Bassett’s with over 15 years of experience, departed to launch Rio Grande Grill in Germantown in 2020. After acquiring Bassett’s, Myers successfully reopened the restaurant in May 2022. The menu boasts a diverse selection, featuring items like fried chicken, burgers, salads, and home-style entrees such as meatloaf, chicken pot pie, and grilled calves liver.
