Ruta Ukrainian Restaurant Opening Soon in Bethesda

Ruta Ukrainian Restaurant is coming to 4862 Cordell Ave in Bethesda, the former site of Momo Chicken.

Ruta currently has a location at 327 7th St in SE Washington, DC. Menu items include Varenyky (Ukrainian dumplings), Chicken Kyiv, and Meat Holubtsi (meat stuffed cabbage with sour cream).

According to its website, ““Ruta” is not just a beautifully sounding word, it’s also a wonderful flower from ancient Ukrainian myths and legends. The legends and tales of the Carpathians tell that the real “Red Ruta” is a yellow flower, and only on a magical night of Ivana Kupala it turns flaming red for just a few minutes. The legend also says that the lucky one who finds the flower and plucks it during those few minutes will find true love. We hope our “Ruta” becomes your true love”

The news of Ruka’s upcoming Bethesda location was first reported by Robert Dyer.
