Sisters Sandwiches & Such to Launch Third Location

Sisters Sandwiches & Such, renowned for its original Olney location at 16834 Georgia Ave., is set to open its third location this fall in Bethesda. The sandwich shop, initially started by Kim Carlson and Tammy Prestipino in 2010, will be expanding to 4520 East West Highway, the former site of Perfect Pita, according to Bethesda Magazine.

The expansion is being led by Ajith Wellage, along with current co-owners Ravi Abeynayake and Ron Vogel, who took over the business from Carlson and Prestipino in 2019. Following their acquisition, Abeynayake and Vogel opened a second location in Germantown at 20201 Century Blvd. Suite 150, situated near Top Golf and Señor Tequila’s.

The original Sisters location has become a beloved Olney fixture, located in the historic Higgins Tavern—a trading post from the early 1820s on the old Georgetown-to-Brookville Road. The restaurant boasts a 4.7 rating on Google with over 125 reviews and a 4.2 rating on Yelp with over 260 reviews.
