Exciting Developments at Tacos Don Perez: Anticipated to open in early 2024, Tacos Don Perez is making significant progress in transforming the location that was formerly K-Town Bistro at 3784 Howard Ave in Kensington. After facing a few delays, the restaurant is in the final stages of interior renovations, with ongoing planning for appliances and seating.
Originally a small, family-run catering business in 2017, Tacos Don Perez evolved into a once-a-week home-based pop-up in May 2020 due to the impact of Covid-19. The pop-up quickly gained community support, leading the family to acquire and custom-build their own food truck located in the Glenmont shopping center at 12321 Georgia Ave.
In March 2022, Tacos Don Perez expanded further by opening what they proudly refer to as “the biggest food trailer in Montgomery County” in the same Glenmont location. Despite these successes, the upcoming Kensington restaurant will mark Tacos Don Perez’s first brick-and-mortar location, adding to the culinary landscape of the area.
Both the Glenmont and Kensington locations are set to operate with the same hours from Tuesday to Sunday, providing patrons with a consistent experience. As the finishing touches are applied to the Kensington restaurant, locals can look forward to the addition of Tacos Don Perez to the dining scene in early 2024.
