Rockville’s culinary scene is set to welcome a new addition with the arrival of Terra Gaucha, a genuine Churrascaria or Brazilian Steakhouse, at Twinbrook Quarter. Nestled on the corner of Festival St. and Chapman Ave., Terra Gaucha will be conveniently located behind the much-anticipated Wegmans, currently undergoing interior renovations.
With successful locations in Tampa and Jacksonville, Florida, as well as a recently opened establishment in Stamford, Connecticut, Terra Gaucha brings its expertise in traditional Brazilian cuisine to Rockville. Notably, an upcoming location in Indianapolis further solidifies its expansion.
At the heart of Terra Gaucha’s offering is the time-honored technique of fire-roasting meats, curated by skilled “gaucho chefs” who meticulously select, butcher, and season each skewer. The dining experience promises a cultural immersion, with meats and seafood expertly carved tableside, offering a glimpse into Brazilian culinary traditions. Diners can expect an interactive experience, with servers carving meats directly onto their plates, allowing guests to savor each bite at their leisure. The restaurant’s signature “Rodizio” concept offers a fixed-price, all-you-can-eat experience, featuring unlimited access to a gourmet salad bar and a continuous flow of fire-roasted meats and seafood, ensuring a feast for the senses.
The menu boasts an enticing array of meat selections, including churrasco favorites alongside inventive creations like bacon-wrapped chicken breasts, bourbon and beer-marinated chicken drumsticks, grilled salmon, shrimp with passion fruit and mango glaze, mint-marinated lamb, and wine-marinated pork. Complementing the meats is an extensive salad bar featuring smoked salmon, lobster bisque, shrimp salad, and other accompaniments. For dessert, guests can indulge in traditional Brazilian Flan or indulge in the decadent Petite Gateau-Molten Lava cake.
While an official opening date is yet to be announced, Terra Gaucha’s arrival marks a significant milestone as the first signing for the restaurant and retail segment of Twinbrook Quarter, alongside the highly anticipated Wegmans.
