Signage has emerged in the window heralding the arrival of Uzu Revolving Sushi to The Shops at Congressional Village on Rockville Pike. This establishment marks the second revolving sushi spot slated for Rockville, following our previous report on Kura revolving sushi making its way to nearby Federal Plaza.
While details on Uzu are currently scarce, revolving sushi typically involves placing sushi on a conveyor belt that traverses the restaurant, offering patrons a chance to select their favorites as the sushi makes its rounds. An exact opening date has yet to be announced.
The Shops at Congressional Village, a bustling multi-tenant retail shopping center, recently made headlines when it changed hands for $44 million at an auction on Wednesday, October 12th, 2022. The winning bid was secured by the IVEA restaurant group, known for local favorites like Gyuzo BBQ, Gong Cha, The Spot, Kyoto Matcha, and Lao Sze Chuan, alongside Chicago-based Windfall Group LLC. Plans are underway to enhance the center with additional dining options. Uzu will soon join a diverse lineup of eateries at the shopping center, including Okaeri Japanese Cafe, Kanpai Southeast Asian BBQ and Shabu Shabu Buffet, among others.
