Gordon Ramsay has made his mark at The Wharf, already introducing two restaurants with his Fish & Chips and Hell’s Kitchen concepts in recent years. In 2022, he announced the forthcoming arrival of his Street Pizza concept, earmarking The Wharf in DC as the site for the restaurant’s inaugural United States location. The much-anticipated opening is now slated for Wednesday, June 12th, as announced by the restaurant’s Instagram account.
The all-you-can-eat pizza establishment has commandeered a spacious 7,100 square feet area at 507 7th St. NW, spanning two floors and amalgamating two former tenant spaces at 501-507 7th St. NW. Strategically positioned just a block south of Capital One Arena and across from José Andrés’ Jaleo, the restaurant boasts over 200 seats. Its layout suggests that each level will feature its own bar, pool table, lounge, kitchen, and dining area, as per BizJournals.
Ramsay originally launched the first Street Pizza locale in London’s St. Paul neighborhood in April 2018. Since then, he has expanded the concept to six additional locations across London, one in Edinburgh, Scotland, and a Malaysian outpost that debuted earlier this year. While bottomless pizza is offered for approximately $19 per person in London, it remains unclear if the pricing will mirror that at the debut U.S. venue. Ramsay’s menu promises classics like Margherita pizza alongside a plethora of toppings such as pepperoni, chorizo, and even corn adorning some of the pies. Beyond pizza, the menu will feature wings, fries, beer, cocktails, and more.
