Coming soon to the Farmland Commercial Kitchen at 11910 Parklawn Dr. is Arepateca, a new Venezuelan restaurant brought to you by the creators of Panateca DC. Specializing in arepas, a staple food in Venezuela and Colombia, Arepateca will offer a menu focused on carry-out or delivery, operating out of a commercial kitchen.
Arepas are round corn patties that are grilled and commonly enjoyed with a variety of fillings, such as cheese, butter, avocado, and savory ingredients. Arepateca aims to bring a fusion of traditional Venezuelan flavors with innovative twists to the DMV area.
According to Arepateca’s social media announcement, their menu will feature signature dishes like smoked brisket and aged cheddar cheese arepas, as well as smoked pulled pork with pickled red onions and pineapple habanero sauce. Classic Venezuelan dishes with a modern twist, such as the Reina arepa with avocado chicken salad and the Domino arepa with black beans, Caribbean cheese, and fried sweet plantains, will also be available.
