Owners of Taco Bar/Ixtapalapa/La Gula Mexicana to Introduce Fresh Concept in Former Growlers Spot, Olde Towne Gaithersburg

Following a period of dormancy, the space at 227 E. Diamond Ave. has found new owners in the proprietors of local favorites Taco Bar El Guero (Rio area), Ixtapalapa (Gaithersburg), and La Gula Mexicana (Germantown).

Formerly occupied by Growlers and Summit Station Brewery, this location is soon to be reborn as Mayan Monkey Brewing Co., a fresh venture from this seasoned group. While they intend to brew their own beer, obtaining the necessary state brewing license is a process that typically takes 3-4 months.

Mayan Monkey Brewing Co. will feature a diverse menu blending Mexican and American cuisines, including offerings like pretzels and burgers. Upstairs, live music will continue to grace the space, while downstairs will accommodate full-service dining. Stay tuned for an opening date, which is yet to be announced.
